I originally made Chani's eyes dark blue, but you couldn't see them very well. Living on Arakkis her whole life, Chani couldn't imagine a world where water was so abundant, it fell from the sky as rain or collected in great oceans. The phrase in the title was when Chani learned of Paul's watery homeworld of Caladan. It suited her personality, & just because you wear a stillsuit when outside your home compound a lot, doesn't always mean you have to chop off your hair. The book described her as having 'elfin features' & the 'grace of a gazelle.' I gave her long, beautiful dark hair, like she had in the '84 movie. Chani is a Fremen woman, a desert warrior born & raised in the deep deserts of Arakkis. She is Paul Atreides' love-interest, whom he met in the deep deserts of Arakkis after he & his mother fled their home and the Harkonnen invasion. Chani's another of my fave characters from 'Dune,' (in addition to Lady Jessica, Paul, & a few others). I used the Heroine Fan-Art creator to re-create her here.
